Brian taught for over 30 years, mostly in intermediate grades. He is currently the STEM Learning Facilitator for the Northwest Regional Professional Development Program. His classroom was the model technology classroom for the Washoe County School District for 6 years. His students received numerous awards, have been written about in magazine and newspaper articles and interviewed for television news stories about their innovative projects and learning activities in math, science and language arts. Brian has presented at numerous state and national science, technology and education conferences.
He recently co-authored a book, “Making Connections with Blogging.” Brian is a consultant with the Northern Nevada Writing Project. He was recently interviewed by Brian Williams of NBC News about his innovative teaching practices, and was a panelist at the New York Times Schools for Tomorrow program.
Brian is a graduate of Southern Oregon University and holds a Masters Equivalency Certificate from WCSD. Brian has mentored hundreds of teachers in best practices locally and as far away as China and Australia. Brian enjoys hanging with his family, travel, outdoor activities of all kinds and tinkering around the house.
