Family engagement plays a vital role in student success. NWRPDP offers professional learning to help educators build meaningful partnerships with families, strengthen communication, and create welcoming school communities that support learning at home and in the classroom.

Licenses Provision

NWRPDP offers approved professional learning courses that satisfy Nevada teacher licensure provisions. These courses provide educators with flexible, high-quality learning opportunities to meet licensure requirements while gaining practical knowledge and strategies that can be applied directly in the classroom.

State Requirements

Per the Nevada Department of Education overview:  Parental Involvement and Family Engagement actively promotes and supports the participation and engagement of families and communities in a child’s education. Family engagement is a shared responsibility between schools, families, and communities where all receive equitable access to tools and supports needed to successfully work together toward the development of children and youth for college, career, and lifelong learning. 

 

NRS 391.019
1. The Commission shall adopt regulations:

 (g) Prescribing course work on parental involvement and family engagement. The Commission shall:

             (1) Work in cooperation with the Office of Parental Involvement and Family Engagement created by NRS 385.630 in developing the regulations required by this paragraph.

             (2) Establish standards for professional development training which may be used to satisfy any course work requirement prescribed pursuant to this paragraph.
