Introductory Computer Science Endorsement

We are offering a nine-credit Introductory Computer Science Endorsement program that is available to K-12 teachers in Nevada. There is a growing demand for computer science and a growing demand for teachers who possess the knowledge to teach Nevada's Academic Standards for Computer Science. Increase your skill set by starting your journey with us today!

Here are some important details to know:

• Courses are entirely online, a blend of asynchronous and synchronous instruction.
• Zoom and Canvas will be the platforms used.
• This endorsement consists of the three courses outlined below.
• Each course is offered through SUU for three graduate credits.
• Those credits may be used for salary advancement based on district guidelines.
• Credits may also be used for license renewal based on state guidelines.
• Each 3-credit course costs $63, payable to SUU.

Course Information

• Concepts in Computer Science - 9/7/22 to 10/18/22 - virtual synchronous sessions on 9/7, 9/14, 9/28, and 10/12 from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm, plus 33 additional hours of asynchronous work
• Methods for Teaching Computer Science - 10/26/22 to 12/13/22 - virtual synchronous sessions on 10/26, 11/2, 11/16, and 12/7 from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm, plus 33 additional hours of asynchronous work
• Methods for Teaching Computer Applications - 1/18/23 to 2/21/23 - virtual synchronous sessions on 1/18, 1/25, 2/8, and 2/22 from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm, plus 33 additional hours of asynchronous work
